1 Million Climate Jobs Campaign

Organized by a collective of unions and researchers, the 1 Million Climate Change Jobs report makes the case for the Government to create 1 Million Jobs that tackle Climate Change. Examples of these jobs could be public transport drivers (less cars on road) or home insulators. Anyone in the jobs would have a decent pension, standard of living and retrained when their job was no longer needed (e.g., when all UK homes were insulated). The creation of these jobs is fully costed and financially viable. Not only would the creation of these jobs reduce climate change, but they would also reduce unemployment (and governmental spending on benefits) and boost the economy. The campaign asks for the Government to merely ‘seriously consider’ the campaign. Download and sign the petition here.
